Fi Donovan, Head of Engagement and Partnerships at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ, said: "¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s sponsorship of Spark Arts Festival presents an exciting opportunity for families to explore creativity and challenge perceptions at the 'We Know Best’ and ‘Building Brave Spaces' takeover day.

“On Saturday, the Vijay Patel building will transform into a hub of imaginative workshops and interactive experiences, inviting children and families to reimagine traditional ideas of play and knowledge.

“Kids get to shake up the status quo, designing experiences that challenge grown-up ideas of how to access, create and enjoy all forms of artistic expression.”

Other activities during ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s takeover include sculpture making from recycled materials, a live comedy gameshow, and the opportunity to take part in the ‘Gallery of Greatness’ – where children can make their own medal, trophy, or award to celebrate their creative skills.

Spanning venues across the city for seven packed days, the festival which aims to bring, joy, freedom and choice will see Leicester transformed into the biggest city-wide children’s playground, with free creative workshops, roleplay sessions, music making and workshops.

The Spark Arts for Children is one of the largest independent children's arts festivals in England and Wales, presenting theatre, dance, music, visual arts and digital media events for young people up to 13.
