Personal profile

Dr Caprifico is a Lecturer in Biomedical Science within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (HLS) at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ (¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ). Dr Caprifico pursued her BSc and her MSc degrees in Biology at the University of Salento in Lecce, Italy, in 2010. Subsequently, she relocated to Belgium (Bruxelles), where she served as a Research Assistant for the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research in Human and Molecular Biology (IRIBHM). Following this, Dr Caprifico transitioned to the United Kingdom, where she undertook her second MSc in Biomedical Science at Aston University in Birmingham. In 2015, she commenced employment as a Scientist at Abzena Ltd. in Cambridge, contributing to the Immunology team. In 2018, Dr Caprifico embarked on a Ph.D. program in Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Pharmacy at Kingston University in London, United Kingdom. where she developed chitosan nanoparticles for brain-targeted drug delivery and tested blood-brain barrier (BBB) passage.
