Personal profile

I am a Senior Lecturer in The Division of Education. My teaching areas include social justice, history of education, child development and digital education. I completed my degree in Education Studies from ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ and secured a scholarship from the programme and went on to continue my Master’s in Education Practice. I joined the team in 2015 and completed my PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and Training.

My research areas/interests include social justice, race and gender, identities, positionality and educational technology. I am currently working towards my PhD (part-time) exploring the identities and experiences of British South-Asian women in academia. In addition, I am also working with colleagues on a few research projects. These include looking at the ‘Experiences of Muslim Students in the UK education system: an EDI perspective’. This is an internally funded project through ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ HLS Faculty. As well as working on developing creative methods to access lived experiences.
